Going Natural: The Detox Market's Best of Green Beauty Box

My interest in beauty products waxes and wanes, but around my January birthday I get a bit of a "treat yo self" mentality, and that usually results in a purchase or two. I blame Sephora's free birthday gift for VIB's, which tends to start me down the rabbit hole.

As I mentioned in my February goal setting post, I have a renewed interest in skincare. I suppose it's appropriate—nothing like your yearly mortality reminder to make you desire the skin of a baby angel's butt!

This led me to discovering The Detox Market's Best of Green Beauty box. A few years ago, I made it a personal project to convert to mostly natural beauty items, and I've maintained a general interest in that even though I haven't blogged much about it nor made that many purchases. Last month, I realized I was in need of mascara and highlighter. While I was poking around some green beauty Instagram accounts, I saw this box featuring The Detox Market's favorite products from 2015. It contained the RMS Living Luminizer and the W3LL PEOPLE mascara that I'd heard great things about, plus a Kypris serum and One Love Organics powdered dry shampoo, both of which I was curious to try. And I'm almost out of moisturizer, so sure I'll try Odacité!

While the box is a splurge, it felt like a decent value given the total cost of the products and the fact that I wanted to buy several of them already. Plus, it was my birthday and TREAT YO SELF.

This was my first time ordering from The Detox Market, though I had heard positive reviews of the shop. I was super impressed at how fast my order shipped, and the packaging was adorable—check out those white hearts on the inside of the box! They also included a small bag of samples with my order, including a natural sunscreen I've been wanting to try.

Aside from this box, I also placed a small Sephora order for a mini sample set of skincare products from Ole Henriksen, a company that, while not an entirely natural brand, blends scientific research with natural ingredients to make effective products, and I'm curious to see how they work for me. And, as I've mentioned at least twice already because I'm so excited, I won a Winter Glow kit from Herbivore Botanicals, which will probably be featured in another post because the products themselves are so beautiful and smell effing amazing.

Even with these new products, I'm eager to find a routine that works for me, rather than constantly looking for and trying new things, and have no plans to buy anything else for a long while. If I end up liking more than a few of these products, I might do a more in-depth natural(ish) skincare routine blog post. I also have the book Skin Cleanse on request from the library, and a review will be forthcoming if I find it informative.

Let the pampering commence, and the glowing skin follow ;)
